A quick, non-surgical procedure. We use your own blood to help promote the healthy activity of your skin cells. The PRP is derived from the serum portion of the blood, which contains platelets. The platelets contain high levels of growth factors, which, when applied to the skin, will stimulate collagen production. PRP can also be injected as your own natural filler.
PRP stands for Platelet-Rich Plasma, we draw your blood, spin it to separate the Platelet-Rich Plasma from the RBC’s. We then take this and use it as a serum for our Microneedling treatment with @theskinpen (only FDA microneedling device in the USA). This allows for the serum to penetrate deeper into the skin.
PRP has growth factors that help stimulate collagen and elastin production which thickens and tightens thinning skin which then helps with fine lines and wrinkles. It also has anti-inflammatory and healing properties.
This is a treatment that creates micro-injuries to the skin to stimulate collagen production. It was originally invented for acne scaring. It also helps with fine lines and wrinkles, skin tone and texture, hyperpigmentation, and can stimulate hair growth for the scalp.
Yes and no. Once your skin has healed (about 4-7 days from treatment) your skin will have a nice glow. However, collagen takes roughly 3 to 12 weeks to remodel so this treatment is done is a series of 3 to 6 treatments (roughly 1 month apart).
Only use the Skin Pen Microneedling Device!!! No alternatives. It is the ONLY FDA-cleared Microneedling Device in the US. That means that other Microneedling pens are not regulated- infections & diseases could be passed from patient to patient.
We numb you for about 15-20 minutes. The forehead is a little tender but tolerable. The cheeks I find to be ticklish and almost feel like a cat licking your face (No? Never had a cat lick your face? You’re missing out… but we can get into that another time). Afterwards it does feel like a moderate sunburn. We do give you products to sooth your skin while it is healing.
I would prefer you to not wear any make up for 48 hours.
Orthopedic Surgeons use PRP for tendon and tissue injury repair. Plastic Surgeons use PRP for wound healing and anti-aging procedures. PRP is becoming one of the most popular anti-aging treatments that is nonsurgical.
