DermaCenter™’s non-collagen fillers contain hyaluronic acid gel that closely resembles the body’s own hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance that adds volume and hydration to the skin. This service can be used on the face to smooth away smile lines, worry lines or wrinkles around the mouth or enhance the lips or cheeks in a simple procedures that takes about thirty minutes. Filler injections show instant results to restore your youthful appearance with minimal recovery time, and long lasting results.
Juvéderm™/Restylane® are a non-animal based injectable filler. They are made of hyaluronic acid – a material that is in the joints and bodies of all living things. Among its many natural functions, hyaluronic acid maintains the volume of the skin, keeps skin hydrated and maintains the shape of the eye. As we age, we lose hyaluronic acid from the skin and it loses its volume and structure. Injecting Juvéderm™/Restylane® into skin folds and wrinkles replaces that structure and volume.
Allergies to Juvéderm™/Restylane® are extremely rare. It is free of animal products and is not recognized by the body as a foreign material. However, let your provider know if you are allergic to Lidocaine – as some of our filler contains this.
Anyone who would like to address the above aesthetic concerns and does not have an active infection at the site of injection is a good candidate. Juvéderm™/Restylane® can also be safely combined with BOTOX®/Dysport®.
When you come in for your Juvéderm™/Restylane® injection appointment, you will have numbing cream placed on the area that is to be injected for about 10-15 minutes or a numbing injection may be given.
Once the area is numb, Juvéderm™/Restylane® will be injected with a very thin needle in a series of small injections. You might be asked to ice the area injected intermittently – a minute on and a minute off, for the rest of the day. The entire process will take less than 20 minutes after numbing.
Common side effects after injections include brief redness, bruising, tenderness, and swelling that can last up to two weeks.
No. When Juvéderm™/Restylane® dissolves, it is excreted from the body.
